Dave Hill

Dave Hill is a professional guitarist and has been active in Los Angeles since 1985, featured on countless recordings and projects.   He began his musical journey playing piano and started taking guitar lessons in grade school, growing up in Seattle, WA.  His diverse love of music and attention to detail within his playing leads him to excel in a wide variety of musical landscapes.

He received his education at The Guitar Institute of Technology in LA and has been a teaching artist at The Musicians Institute of Technology since 1989.  He also shared his knowledge with aspiring musical professionals at The Los Angeles Music Academy, (LAMA). 

Dave’s music has led him to tour extensively throughout the states and Europe, showcasing his own compositions as well as being featured as a lead guitarist on a world tour, with legendary British singer Englebert Humperdinck.  He has shared the stage and studio with contemporary jazz greats Gregg Karukas, Freddie Ravel of Earth Wind and Fire, Chuck Negron of Three Dog Night, Max Bennett of the LA Express, Jimmy Haslip of the Yellowjackets and Tom Scott of Steely Dan. 

He currently has two studio albums released to his name, Two Season (2000) and New World (2010), feat Gregg Karukas and jazz heavy weights “The Yellowjackets”. He is presently working on a new release for 2025.  

Dave has a guitar instructional manual published by Hal Leonard titled The Guitar Licktionary showcasing licks A-Z through a variety of styles and currently accepts students of all ages for private instruction.  

In 2020, he relocated with his family to Western New York and has been able to successfully reestablish himself and his original music project, making a strong statement with his work and his soulful smooth melodies.  He is looking forward to creating new music and watching his career evolve over the coming years.
